Recognition Dinner - May 2016

What we do NOW...What we hope to accomplish in the FUTURE

Our Mission

Mentors for Berks Youth guides students with potential toward post-secondary success by providing one-to-one relationships with accomplished, dedicated adults.

Our mentors are currently working with their proteges who are students at the Reading Intermediate High School, the Reading High School, Muhlenberg High School or at Alvernia University.

Our team is made up entirely of volunteers. We advocate for those who need our help. Even a little help goes a long way.

That is why we are especially happy to find new volunteers who share our commitment to doing good for the youth in our community. Do you want to support us by helping with our work? Then do not hesitate to contact us. A helping hand is always greatly appreciated!

Become a Mentor

Our Vision

Mentors for Berks Youth has a vision to empower Berks youth to become assets in our community by nurturing and promoting their academic, social and cultural development.

Our Future

As a result of our strategic focus and hard work, our goal is to achieve a yearly increase in the numbers of fully trained and engaged mentors. We rely on local businesses, foundations and individuals to provide the resources we need to fulfill our mission and grow our program.  Simply stated, we need mentors.  We cannot seek out a protege unless we have a mentor to be matched with that student. As important, our organization is fully structured for sustainability, ensuring its future for generations to come.
